We want to make sure everyone is able to view the fireworks display from a safe place so here are some tips:

• Anderson Park and Friendship Gardens Park will close to public at 6:00pm.

• Swinford Park will allow parking for fireworks. At roughly 10pm traffic from Center Street will be closed. When exiting the park, after the fireworks, there will be traffic control leading patrons from Longfellow to Stafford Road.

• The Al and Jan Barker Sports Complex will allow parking for the fireworks. At roughly 10pm traffic from 700 East will be closed. When exiting the park, after the fireworks, there will be traffic control leading patrons to US 40.

• For information on Hummel Park please contact Guilford Township.

And as a reminder to all no personal fireworks are permitted in Plainfield Parks to insure the safety of all guest.

TRAFFIC: The Plainfield Police Department put together a comprehensive plan and map to keep all of those safe and keep traffic moving come July 4th.

• Vehicles leaving Hummel Park from the northern exit on the east side will be directed northbound on Center St.

• All those leaving the east side of the park from the south access road will be sent southbound on Center St.

• Vehicles leaving from the west side of the park will be sent south on Sugar Grove Road and then west on Hadley Road.

• The Plainfield Police Department will not be allowing anyone to go westbound to Center St on Stafford Rd, Longfellow Ln, Stanley Rd, Springcrest, or Reeves Rd.

As always, give yourself plenty of time to get to the park and be patient leaving the park! We hope you have a safe and fun-filled Fourth of July in Plainfield!
